🤖 Prompt Engineering Tip: Web design consultant
Rabbit, an AI startup, has unveiled the Rabbit R1, a $199 standalone AI device with a rotating camera, a button, and a speaker. You can do a lot of Google Assistant-style stuff with the R1.
The Rabbit R1 is not a phone... but it’s not not a phone! 😉
Smaller than an iPhone, it features a 2.88-inch touchscreen, a rotating camera, and a unique Rabbit OS operating system. Unlike traditional chatbots, Rabbit OS is based on a "Large Action Model" (LAM), functioning as a universal controller for apps. The R1 aims to execute tasks across various services through voice commands, providing a single interface for multiple actions. Rabbit trained its LAM by interacting with existing apps, making it adaptable to diverse platforms. Here’s the full keynote on YouTube.
Things to know: Full Details on the website
R1 Hardware: Compact design, 2.3GHz MediaTek processor, 4GB memory, 128GB storage, 2.88-inch touchscreen, and a unique interface designed with Teenage Engineering.
Rabbit OS: Based on a Large Action Model, Rabbit OS serves as a universal app controller, allowing users to perform tasks across different services seamlessly.
Training Mode: The R1 offers a training mode where users can teach the device-specific actions, enhancing its ability to perform personalized tasks.
Integration with Existing Apps: Instead of relying on developers to create APIs, Rabbit trained its model by interacting with popular apps like Spotify and Uber, enabling the R1 to understand and execute actions within any app.
Privacy: Rabbit emphasizes security and privacy in its design, although users must log in to various services through Rabbit OS.
Kini Big Deal? (Why does it matter?)
We are tired of the next iPhone looking, feeling and doing almost exactly what the previous version did (aren’t you?)
The release of the Rabbit R1 on the market represents a potential shift in how people interact with mobile and desktop technologies. It seeks to ease chores as an AI-powered device by functioning as a universal controller for numerous apps, providing a seamless and consolidated experience. This might offer quicker access to a wide range of services through a single interface for the average individual, minimising the need to navigate different apps. Let’s see how practical this will be when it gets into our hands. 🤞
